Sweethart Productions Composer: Michelle Hart
Michelle was born and raised in Los Angeles. A music major at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre from UCLA.
She launched her career as a jingle singer, providing background vocals
for Revlon and McDonald's commercials.
Moving to Japan, she established herself as the #1 commercial singer
in Tokyo from 1999 to 2003.
She has worked closely with the J. Walter Thompson Agency. Michelle
composed, performed and produced the music for a multitude of their advertising
campaigns. Particularly notable is her work on the "Lux Super Rich
Shampoo" and "Lux Spa Moist Soap" campaigns designed for
the Japanese market. These spots feature on-air talent such as Charlize
Theron, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Gabrielle Anwar ("The Scent of a Woman"),
Penelope Cruz and Natalie Portman. Michelle is also adept at handling
all the facets of the music production process, from pre-production to
final mix.
Michelle has worked with many outstanding composers and musicians such
as: Don Grusin, Henry Mancini, Dizzy Gillespie, Toots Thielemans, Earle
Hagen, Dori Caymmi, Ivan Lins and singers such as Bill Champlin (from
the group "Chicago"), Bobby Caldwell, Niki Haris (background
singer for Madonna), Catte Adams (background singer for Natalie Cole),
Sheryl Crowe and Joseph Williams (from "Toto").
As an Executive Producer, Michelle has been solely responsible for securing
Japanese record releases for artists such as: Paul Williams, Rick Springfield,
Ralph Johnson (from the group "Earth Wind & Fire"), Christopher
Cross, Kim Carnes, Rupert Holmes, Rita Coolidge, Pat Simmons (from "The
Doobie Brothers"), Eric Carmen, alternative band Krunk and many
others.
Currently based in Los Angeles, Michelle has formed Sweethart Productions,
a company dedicated to the excitement she continuously feels when hooking
up fine musicians with advertising agencies in order to create innovative
and powerful TV and Radio spots to suit the needs of each and every client.
